Metaphor may not be a verb, but it's awfully tempting to use it as one from time to time. The first play-on-words use that comes to my mind is "metaphoring it up," which could perhaps refer to what happens when authors of romance novels get carried away in their descriptions of...well, the scenes that will later on be underlined by Braden's drunken wife.
*sigh* I think that was funnier in my head. Brain's deader than I thought.
